1) Determine a common denominator - 3y will do in this case.
2) +%283%29%2F%28y%29+-+%282y%2B1%29%2F%283y%29+%2B+%281%29%2F%283%29+=+%289+-+%282y+%2B+1%29+%2B+y%29%2F3y+
3) +%288+-+y%29%2F3y+
4) +8%2F3y+-+1%2F3+
