how do you find the focus of
x^2=16y
This is an equation of a parabola that opens upwards of the standard form: (x-h)^2=4p(y-k), (h,k) being the (x,y) coordinates of the vertex.
For given equation:
vertex(0,0)
axis of symmetry: x=0 or y-axis
4p=16
p=4
focus: (0,4) (p units above the vertex on the axis of symmetry)
