Isolate the Y
9y^2 = 36- 6x^2
y^2 = 36/9 - 6x^2/9
y^2 = 4- 1/3x^2

For X intercept y=0
0 = sqrt%284-%281%2F3%29x%5E2%29
0 = 4-1/3x^2
-4 = -1/3x^2
X^2= -4/-1/3
= 12
