Ink remover: Etch Clean Graphics uses one cleanser that is 25% acid and a second that is 50% acid. How many liters of each should be mixed to get 30 L of a solution that is 40% acid?

Equation:
acid + acid = acid
0.25x + 0.50(30-x) = 0.4*30
-----
Multiply thru by 100 to get:
25x + 50*30 - 50x = 40*30
-25x = -10*30
x = (2/5)30
---
x = 12 L (amt. of 25% solution needed)
30 - x = 18 L (amt. of 50% solution needed)
