Circle: and terms have equal coefficients.

Ellipse: and terms have same sign but unequal coefficients.

Hyperbola: and terms have opposite sign coefficients.

Parabola: Missing or term (but NOT both)

BTW, ^ does NOT mean "squared"; it means "raised to the power of" and an exponent following the ^ is expected.
