Question 519728: Properties of Parabolas:
Graph each function. If a>0, find the minimum value. If a<0,find the maximum value?
1.) y=5x^2-3

Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y=5x^2-3 is in the form y = a(x-h)^2+k where a=5, h=0 and k=-3

Since a > 0, the min value is y = k. Because k = -3, the min value is y=-3

Below is the graph to confirm
