Question 385192: Convert 2x^2 + 2y^2 + 6x - 8y + 12 = 0 into center-radius form.
I divided by 2 to get a coefficeint of one. then when I tried to complete the square I didn't know what to do with the 3.
x^2 + 3x + ___ + y^2 + 4y + 2 = -6 + ____ + 2 Answer by Fombitz(13828) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Take (1/2) of 3 and square it, add it to both sides.
Also, for you should add 4 and not 2 to both sides (again it's (1/2)4 squared).
