Question 328448: Give the slope of the asymptotes of the conic section x^2/144 + y^2/25=1

This is an ellipse. It doesn't have any asymptotes.
How do I know it is an ellipse?
If you have an
term but no
term (or vice versa) you have a parabola.
If the
and the
terms have opposite signs, you have a hyperbola (and you have asymptotes).
If the
and the
terms have identical coefficients, then you have a circle.
If (as in this case) the
and the
terms have unequal coefficients with the same sign, then you have an ellipse.
