Question 325497: how to resolve See the Strategy for Reducing Rational Expressions
99. x2+4x+4 / x2-4
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x2+4x+4 / x2-4
---
You can only simplify a fraction is you can
reduce it. To do that you need to factor.
----
= (x+2)^2/[(x-2)(x+2)]
---
The factor common to numerator and denominator
is (x+2)
Cancel it to get the final simplified answer:
---
= (x+2)/(x-2)
