complete the square on this problem?
4x^2+2y^2-8x+4y-2=0
---
Simplify by dividing thru by 2 to get:
2x^2 - 4x + y^2 + 2y = 1
----
2(x^2-2x+?) + y^2+2y + 1 = 1 + 2? + ?
---
2(x^2-2x+1) + y^2+2y+1 = 1 + 2*1 + 1
---
2(x-1)^2 + (y+1)^2 = 4
Divide thru by 4 to get:
----
(x-1)^2/2 + (y+1)/4 = 1
