The height must be known, or the equation must be given in terms of floors, rather than meters.

If it's in terms of floors/sec, etc, then is this an American building, or outside the US.
In the US, the 1st floor is the bottom floor, at ground level.
In other countries, the 1st floor is one floor above ground.
