It's an ellipse. The sum of x^2 and y^2 terms --> ellipse.
If it's the difference, it's a hyperbola.
(x-3)^2/9 + (y-2)^2/4=1 ellipse
(x-3)^2/9 - (y-2)^2/4=1 hyperbola

If there is both a term and an term, then it is NOT a parabola.

If the sign on the term is DIFFERENT than the sign on the term, then you have a hyperbola,

Otherwise, you have a circle or an ellipse. If the coefficient on the term is equal to the coefficient on the term, then it is a circle.

You have an ellipse.
