For Points P(-3,5) and Q(1,3) find (a)PQ and (b)the midpoint of PQ
---------------
The easiest way to do these is to find the average of x and y separately.
(x1+x2)/2 = (-3+1)/2 = -1
(y1+y2)/2 = (5+3)/2 = 4
The midpoint is (-1,4)
-----------------
The length of PQ is (using Pythagoras):

=

=~ 4.472
