Question 1185453: A hyperbola with a horizontal transverse axis passes through the point (0,3). The equations of the asymptotes are y=x+1 and y=5-x. Determine the equation of the hyperbola.
My soln:
Let y=x+1 be the 1st equation, y=5-x be the second solution
Solve for x by equating equations 1 and 2
x+1=5-x
2x=4
x=2
Solve for y using eq 1
y=2+1
y=3
The center of the hyperbola is at (2,3)

Your work is fine, as far as you have taken it.
You don't show the equation of the hyperbola. Did you finish that part of the problem? If not, why not -- that is, what about the problem kept you from finishing.
If you need help finding the equation, re-post, telling us how we can help.
