Question 1169050: Please help me with this.Finding the equation of ellipse.Given endpoints of major axis are (-4,3)and (8,3),one end of the minor axis (2,5). Thank you in advance well appreciated😊😊
Answer by htmentor(1343) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The center of the ellipse is at the midpoint of the major axis, which is (2,3).
2a = the length of the major axis = 12 -> a = 6
b = the distance between the center and the endpoint = 5 - 3 = 2
Thus the equation is (x-2)^2/36 + (y-3)^2/4 = 1
