Given
If A and B are both zero, you don't have a conic, you have a straight line.
If one of A or B is zero, you have a parabola.
If A = B and the signs on A and B are the same, you have a circle.
If A not equal to B and the signs are the same, you have an ellipse.
If the signs are different, you have a hyperbola.
