Question 89975: Can anyone assist me with this problem?
Use the Intermediate Value Theorem to determine if P(x)=2x^5-7x+1 has a zero in the interval [1,2].

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Use the Intermediate Value Theorem to determine if P(x)=2x^5-7x+1 has a zero in the interval [1,2].
-------
Check P(1) and P(2).
If the signs are different there is a zero for P(x) in that interval.
------------
You could also check by graphing P(x)
