Question 841945: Using The Pythagorean Theorem to solve quadratic equation.
Its for finding the sides of a right triangle.
the longest side says "x+4"
the others read "x" and "2x-2"
which equation is correct?
x^2 = (2x-2)^2 + (x+4)^2
x^2 + (x+4)^2 = (2x-2)^2
x^2 = (2x-2)^2-(x+4)^2
x^2 + (2x-2)^2 = (x+4)^2
