Question 785861: If the length of a rectangle is twice its width.if the length of the diagonal of the rectangle is square root of 15, fint the length of the rectangle.

Answer by vic21(4)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
c^2 = a^2 + b^2
√15 is the hypotenuse
if L = 2W
then
(2W)^2 + W^2 = (√15)^2
4W^2 + W^2 = 15
5w^2 = 15
w^2 = 15/5 = 3
w= √3
then from L=2W
L= 2(√3)
ANSWER : L = 2√3 or 3.46
