The person sets of North travels for 12 km
He the turns to the right (East) and travels 15km.
He then travels 15km west which takes him
back to where he turned right.
He then heads South and travels 15km South.
The man has retraced his steps to his starting point
and has travelled 3 km South of the starting point.
Hope this helps
