Well, I wish you luck because you don't have enough information to answer the problem. What is the value of a?
As you probably know, in a right triangle:
You know the value of the hypotenuse, (c = 6) but unfortunately this is not enough to determine the value of a or b unless you also know that a = b.
If a = b, then you can solve this problem as follows:
But a=b, so:

and c = 6, so:
Divide both sides by 2.
Take the square root of both sides.
