Question 491945: find the width of a rectangle whose diagonal is 12cm and base is 4*radical*5 cm long
Answer by cleomenius(959)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a^2 + b^2 = c^2
16*5 + b^2 = 144
80 + b^2 = 144
b^2 = 64
b = 8 cm = width
length = 4 = approx 8.9.
8.9^2 + 8^2 = 12^2
79.2 + 64 = 143.2 Approx, this does check.
