Question 482866: i was given an assignment were i had to use the Pythagorean theorem to get the distance between two points. unfortunately, my answer cannot be in decimal form, but in a form were there is still a square route sign, as if you didn't use a calculator. please help.

If the two points are (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) then the distance d between the two points is

(this is based off of the Pythagorean theorem).

The order of which you choose (x1,y1), (x2,y2) does not matter because you are squaring the difference in their x,y coordinates.
