SOLUTION: if you add 4 to each part of the Pythagorean theorem will your answer be the same?
Ex. a^2+4+b^2+4=c^2+4
Or will it be the same if you multiply each part by two?
2a^2+2b^2=2c^

If you do the same thing on both side of the equal sign, it's still equal.
