Question 351066: if the sides of an equilateral triangle are 9cm, calculate the height of the triangle.
Answer by edjones(8007)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The altitude of the triangle bisects the base, forming two 30-60-90 right triangles with sides in the proportion, base: 1, hypotenuse: 2 and height: sqrt(3).
Since the base is 4.5 cm then the height is 4.5sqrt(3) cm.
