then
x^2 + x^2 = 37^2
2x^2 = 37^2
2x^2 = 1369
x^2 = 1369/2
x = sqrt(1369/2)
x = 26.163 inches

I've never seen a square screen, but

For modern TV's, the width to height ratio is 16:9. Using that:
