In the directions it says to find the missing length of the right triangle if a and b are the lengths of the legs and c is the length of the hypotenuse. I tried to work out the problem but didn't get a perfect square, instead I got the square root of 75 as my answer.

sqrt(75)=sqrt(25*3)=5sqrt(3) is the correct answer.

That is correct.
b = sqrt(75)
That can be simplified:
b = sqrt(25*3)
b = 5sqrt(3)
