First you need to write it out use this formula a^2 + b^2 = c^2
so it would be- 3^2 + 13^2 = c^2
so second square each number- 9 + 168 = c^2
next add 9 + 168 which gives you- 178 = c^2
now square root 178 and c^2 which gives you- 13.34 = c <---- thats your answer
