Question 1190111: Alice, a landscape architect designed a flowerbed for a very important client. The flower bed will take the shape of a right triangle with the legs equal to 12ft And 9ft. She wants to replace some decorative stones along the hypotenuse of the flower bed 1 ft apart. How many stone does she need?
2. Two cars start travelling perpendicularly away from each other from the same place. If one travel 6km and the other 8km how far apart will they be from each other using their bumper as point of reference?
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the first is a 3-4-5 right triangle multiplied by 3, so the hypotenuse is 15 feet and would need 16 stones, one at each end of the hypotenuse, and 1-14 feet for the others, since hypotenuse has points 0 and 15 (in other words, check with the teacher and see if they mean that or just 15 stones for 15 feet.

They are moving apart at 6k km/h in one direction and 8 km/h in the other, so the closest point will be moving apart at 10 km/h, double a 3-4-5 right triangle.
