Let me explain (if you do not know it, trying create Math problems on your own)
that a Math problem is not a puzzle.

These two substances are different and are not the same.

If you don't know what is the difference between them, learn it by reading any textbook in Math.

If you are inclined to create puzzles, it is Ok, but PLEASE find another site to post them to.

---------------

comment from student: ??? What do you mean puzzle? It's a Pythagorean Theorem question from my homework.
It's not a puzzle I made, it's a question I copy-pasted, thank you.

My response.

May be, you have a picture, related to this problem - - - I have no it.

Now read your post --- only the post, without any Figure.

Where in the post do you see right angled triangle ?
Where in the post I can imagine right angled triangle ?

I may think that everything take place at the slope of the hill . . . where there is no any right angled triangles.

Again, from your post, I can not deduce any right angled triangle.

THEREFORE, I tell that this post is a PUZZLE, but not a Math problem, where EVERYTHING must be as clear as a day . . .

It is one part of my response.

The other part is THIS : If you just know about a right angled triangle, then for WHAT REASON do you post it to the forum ?

Why don't you apply this Pythagorean theorem and don't solve your problem in ONE LINE ?
