Proving that the square of even number is even number

x is an even number   Given

let x =  2n  by definition of an even number

x^2 = 2n*2n 

x^2 = 2(2n^2) 

Let p = 2n^2

x^2 = 2p 

x^2 is an even number   by definition of an even number
