Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a rectangle is 5 cm longer than twice the width.
if the perimeter is 46cm, find the dimensions.
----
width:: x cm
length:: 2x+5 cm
------------
Equation:
P = 2(x + 2x+5))
46 + 2(3x+5)
23 = 3x+5
3x = 18
x = 6 cm (width)
2x+5 = 17 (length)
