Question 980284: The sum of two numbers is 141. If four times the smaller number is subtracted from the larger number the result is 16 what are the two numbers
Answer by onlinepsa(22) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let, the numbers be 'p' and 'q'( such that q>p).
p + q=141 ------(1)
q - 4p= 16 ---------(2)
Equation (1) - (2),
5p= 125
p=25
The numbers are 25 & 116 (=141-25).
