Question 976207: what are the three odd numbers between 1 and 15 inclusive that the summation give a total of 30
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
One of the numbers has to be even. Three odd numbers can't equal an even number.
we'll call that x.
We need two odd numbers whose sum is even and is 30-x
let one number be y, the other z
y+z+30-x=30. Therefore, x=y+z
There are multiple solutions: 13,11,6; 15,13,2 etc.
Consecutive numbers (3) that add to 30 have 10 as the average, so they are 8.10,12 (even) or 9,10,11 (any).
