Question 939661: The sum of 3 consecutive integers is 19 less than four times the smaller integer. What is the value of the middle?

Answer by CubeyThePenguin(3113)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
consecutive integers: (x-1), x, (x+1)

(x-1) + x + (x+1) = 4(x-1) - 19
3x = 4x - 4 - 19
-x = -23
x = 23

The integers are 22, 23, and 24, so the middle integer is 23.
