Question 910211: susan, michael, and ahmad served a total of 68 orders monday at the school. Michael served 7 fewer orders than susan. ahmad served 3 times as many as susan. how many orders did they each serve?
Answer by CubeyThePenguin(3113)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Susan = x orders
Michael = x - 7
Ahmad = 3x

Total: x + (x - 7) + 3x = 68
5x - 7 = 68
5x = 75
x = 15

Susan = 15 orders
Michael = 15 - 7 = 8 orders
Ahmad = 3(15) = 45 orders
