Find three consecutive integers such that three times the first one is eight more than the sum of the last two integers
1.X
2.X+1
3.X+2
3X=8(X+1+X+2)
3X=8(2X+3)
3X=16X+24
24=16X-3X
24=13X
24/13=13X/13
X=24/13?

Where you made your mistake was when you multiplied eight by the sum of the last two integers. Eight more than the sum of the last two integers is equal to 8+x+1+x+2 and that is equal to three times the first integer.
3x=8+x+1+x+2
3x=11+2x
x=11
33=11+22
