Question 901958: The greater of two consecutive odd integers is 10 more than three times the lesser. Find the integers. My setup is x & x + 2 being the integers.
So I have x +2 = 3x + 10, which leads me to an answer of x = 4 and x + 2 = 6, but those are even integers.
Either I or the problem is incorrect! Help!!! Thanks!
Answer by CubeyThePenguin(3113) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
greater integer = 10 + 3 times the lesser
x+2 = 10+3x
-8 = 2x
x = -4
The problem is incorrect.
