Question 895359: the sum of three consecutive even integers is 210. What are the integers?
Answer by JulietG(1812)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A + B + C = 210
B = A + 2 (consecutive even, so 2 away)
C = A + 4
.
A + B + C = 210
A + (A+2) + (A+4) = 210
Add
3A + 6 = 210
Subtract 6 from each side
3A = 204
A = 68
If A is 68, then B is 70, and C is 72
.
You can also do this by taking 210 and dividing by 3 to get the middle value. Then add 2 and subtract 2 for the others.
