 what are two integers whose product is -18 and whose difference between the greatest and lest number is 9
Answer
Let integers are X and Y as per given conditions
X-y =9       (1)
xy =-18 (2) by solving both equations
 X =Y+9
substituting the value of X in equation (2)
Y(Y+9) = -18
Y^2 +9Y +18 =0
Y^2 +6Y +3Y +18 =0
Y(Y+6) +3(Y+6) =0
Y +6 =0  or  Y +3=0
Y =-6     or  Y =-3
X-Y =9
X-(-6) =9
x+6 =9
X=9-6 =3
or X= 6
ANSWER
therefor integers are 3,-6 or 6,-3
