Question 863473: One integer is 30 more than another integer. If difference between the larger and twice the smaller is 8, find the integers.
I don't understand how to write the algebraic equations. Please help
Answer by CubeyThePenguin(3113) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x = y + 30
x - 2y = 8
Substitute x = y + 30 into the second equation.
(y + 30) - 2y = 8
-y + 30 = 8
-y = -22
y = 22
The integers are x = 52 and y = 22.
