Question 854517: In terms of negative numbers which is considered the "smallest integer", one closer to "zero" or one further away from "zero"?

When a number is negative, it is considered smaller when it is further away from zero.
For example, -3 is smaller than -1, because -3 is farther from 0 than -1.
