Question 83959: A student has grades of 89, 96, 88 and 90 on the first four exams in a certain course. What is the lowest(whole number) grade that must be obtained on the fifth exam in order for this student to have an average of more than 92?
Answer by checkley75(3666) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(89+96+88+90+x)/5=92
(363+x)/5=92 now cross multiply
363+x=460
x=460-363
x=97 for the required final test to have an acerage iof 92.
proof
(89+96+88+90+97)/5=92
460/5=92
92=92
