Question 808999: the sum of the squares of two consecutive even integers is 84 more than the product of the two integers
Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
integers x & x+2
x^2+(x+2)^2=84+x(x+2)
x^2+x^2+4x+4=84+x^2+2x
simplify
x^2+2x-80=0
x^2+10x-8x-80=0
x(x+10)-8(x+10)=0
(x+10)(x-8)=0
c=-10 OR x=8
8,10 OR -10,-8
