5 consecutive integers:
n, n + 1, n + 2, n + 3, n + 4.
Sum of first, third and fifth = 99
n + (n + 2) + (n + 4) = 99
Remove brackets:
n + n + 2 + n + 4 = 99
Collect like terms:
3n + 6 = 99
3n = 99 - 6
2n = 93
n = 31.
5 consecutive integers:
31, 32, 33, 34, 35.
