Question 586726: Good day to you. Please help me with this word problem.
The Lengths of the legs of a right triangle are consecutive even integers. If the length of the hypotenuse is 10, find the lengths of the legs of the right triangle.

If 'n' is one length, the other is n+2. Then n^2+(n+2)^2=10^2, so 2n^2+4n-96=0. Use the quadratic equation to get n=6, which makes the other side 8 (the other quadratic solution is negative, so we discard it).
