for two consecutive even integers,
x, (x+2)
:
the sum of the smaller and twice the larger is 58
x + 2(x+2) = 58
x + 2x + 4 = 58
3x = 58 - 4
3x = 54
x = 18 and 20 are the two consecutive even integers
