Question 508187: Find three consecutive integers such that the sum of twice the first number and three times the third number is fourteen more than four times the second number (problem written on worksheet)
Answer by Maths68(1474) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let
1st Integer = x
2nd Integer = x+1
3rd Integer = x+2
======================================
2(x)+3(x+2)=14+4(x+1)
2x+3x+6=14+4x+4
5x+6=4x+18
5x-4x=18-6
x=12
========================================
1st Integer = x = 12
2nd Integer = x+1 = 12+1 = 13
3rd Integer = x+2 = 12+2 = 14
=============================================
Check
2(x)+3(x+2)=14+4(x+1)
2(12)+3(14)=14+4(13)
24+42=14+52
66=66
