Hello,
Let's have x be the first integer and x+1 and x+2 be the next 2 integers. Now we can set up the equation as:
(x+1)(x+2)=7x+2
Expand this out:
x^2+3x+2=7x+2
Subtract 7x and 2 to get:
x^2-4x=0
factor this out to get:
x(x-4)=0
Solve for x and we get:
x=0
x=4
So we can see that 0,1,2 and
4,5,6 work as answers.
Make sense?
