Question 367996: Five times the sum of two consecutive odd integers is twelve times the larger of the two. Find the two odd integers.
Answer by robertb(5830) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5(x+x+2) = 12(x+2),
5(2x+2) = 12x + 24,
10x+10 = 12x + 24,
-2x = 14,
x = -7, the first odd integer, and
x+2 = -5, the second odd integer.
